This video is sponsored by: Jimmy’s Laziness. With such a busy schedule this week, this is a video on 7 pieces or things about tech I’m looking forward to this year, or even the near future in no particular order at all. This includes things I want to see happen as well. Anyway, let’s get started.
#1. New laptops. This year with the introduction of new intel and amd processors, ultraportable laptops that traditionally have been 2 cores. Get 4 core processors. In everyday talk, that means. It’s faster. I guess you can say it was INTELlegent for these companies to be RYZEN the performance.
#2. Smart home assistants. Everyone and their mom has a smart home assistant now, Amazon, google, apple already have one out. And now apple is rumored to be releasing a “budget” homepod and even Samsung is considering entering with Bixby? The market is spicing up, and honestly, it’s starting to get really interesting especially since everyone is adding so many new features to their assistants. We’re getting closer to i-robot for sure.
#3. New Smartphones.. like every year. Hopefully, with new features that stand out. Smartphones aren’t innovating like they used to. The last year in smartphones didn’t really have too many phones that stood out for good or bad, except for maybe the Razer phone, google pixel 2 and iphone X.
#4. Optimization. I know this isn’t completely tech but hear me out. Products have been released by every company every year, whether it be smart home products, smartphones, computers, etc. Everything needs better optimization. I wonder if it’s just me. But everyone could use some fine-tuning, from Microsoft windows, apple ios and mac os, and android.
#5. This one is more of a personal request. Hopefully the release of a new Sony alpha A6000-line camera. I’ve been waiting to upgrade for a while, and that’d be pretty nice to have. I’m not a great photographer or videographer, but I’d love to be able to mess with something and learn new techniques and how to use more complex gear. Get to it, Sony. Please?
#6. Less tacky “gamer” aesthetic. Razer has been doing this well with their line now including gunmetal, quartz pink, and mercury editions. Logitech did something similar with their g413 keyboards. It’s about time guys. Hopefully this trend continues.
#7. HDR. Everyone says HDR this HDR that. What does it even mean? Simplify it. There’s dozens of “HDR capable” devices but no real definition or industry standard. HDR is used as such a marketing gimmick for “slightly better than sRGB”. There needs to be a industry consensus.
#8. Less Facebook. No need to go further than that.
Anyway guys what do you think, anything you want to add or anything you aren’t looking forward to? This has been a strange video. I hope you guys at least enjoyed it, give it a like if you did, comment and well, hopefully you also subscribe. I’ll see you guys next time.
